             abstract = "This study presents an analysis of the spatial variation of water 
                         level by observing the variability of hydro-climatic droughts 
                         events in Branco river, since the recurrence of these events has 
                         gained great notoriety in recent years due to changes in the 
                         landscape and their effects on society. The work is concentrated 
                         in 2006 (normal dry), 2015 and 2016 (extreme drought events) over 
                         40 km from Branco river opposite to the city of Boa Vista. The 
                         data used are from the hydrological stations of the National Water 
                         Agency - ANA and the Center for Environmental Hydrology and 
                         Geochemistry of the Amazon Basin Geodynamics - ORE / HYBAM. 
                         Identifying the critical years by analyzed the spatial variation 
                         of the wet area through remote sensing techniques using images of 
                         LANDST 8. There was a reduction of accumulated rainfall in the 
                         last 3 years in Boa Vista station, an increase of 185 % for fire 
                         outbreaks in relation to 2015 for the entire state and, three 
                         discharge records in 2015 and 2016, with a reduction of 41.6% 
                         (23.786 km2) of the wet area in 2016 compared to a normal 
                         discharge year.",
